As part of its commitment to making nature more accessible to everyone, Wiltshire Wildlife Trust has today launched its new Nature Reserves Guide.

Available from this week, the guide covers each of the trust’s nature reserves with photographs and details of what plants and animals you should look out for at each site.

Speaking about the guide, the trust’s head of communications, Amanda Callard, said: “It has long been our ambition to create a user-friendly guide with lots of beautiful images to tell people about each of our reserves.

"It has taken us six months to research, write and design but I am thrilled with the result. The guide contains information about 48 reserves, from small areas like the steep slopes of Ham Hill to living landscape complexes such as Lower Moor Farm which links four reserves together into a beautiful, diverse landscape.”

The A5 guide, designed by Torch Design, is intended to enable people to take one page along with them to a reserve, with images of the flora and fauna found there to help them learn about Wiltshire’s wildlife.

Each reserve page includes post code and Ordnance Survey map and grid references, driving, cycling and public transport directions and features a map with routes through the reserve as well as accessibility information to assist visitors to plan their day.

For those with smart phones who want further information, each page also uses a QR code linked to the trust’s webpage for that reserve.

Ms Callard said: “It really couldn’t be easier to use. We hope we have thought of everything that visitors might need or want to know. The reserve guide is being sent to each member of the trust this week.
