Budding young rock musicians will have the chance to record their own CD at a Summer Rock School to be held in Chepstow later this month.

Music tutor, Noel Watson said, “The aim of the course is to give individual students of all ages the chance to perform in a band situation.  “Over the first two days participants will get the chance to learn songs in several music styles - pop, rock, reggae and blues. The third day will be devoted to band rehearsal and the final day will see each band performing a small set of three or four songs which will be recorded and each pupil will receive a CD of their band performance.”  The course is open to students of all ages and abilities, although they must have been having regular instrumental lessons for at least 12 months. The instruments that will be concentrated on for this course are guitar, bass and drums. Students will be streamed according to age and ability and the course will be tutored by local instrumental teachers Dominic White, (guitar), and Noel Watson, (drums).

The Summer Rock School will be held at Hannah’s Music, 6 Moor Street, Chepstow between Tuesday 19th August and Friday 22nd August 2008. Each day will start at 11.00 am and finish at 4.00 pm.
