The August rain kept away long enough for 85 members of the Chepstow Society to enjoy their summer garden party.

Members spent an enjoyable afternoon exploring the long hidden and forgotten grottoes at Dewstow Gardens, which have been recently restored. Following this they enjoyed a hog roast in the barn, which was accompanied by music to eat by played on the harp by Mr John Thomas.

Everyone joined in thanking the organisers, Eileen Grassby and Keith Underwood, for organising another successful event.

The next Society meeting will be at the Drill Hall Chepstow on September 17. The speaker will be David Davies MP who will talk about “A day in the life of —-” . Everyone is welcome.
