Author David Ashwin will today launch his new book which is aimed at raising funds for the Merchant Navy Association and British Legion.
Mr Ashwin, a former Caldicot Mayor, will talk about Newport Ghosts and the Great War 1914-1918 at Newport Central Library at 2pm.
He will also be selling and signing copies of his work, will all profits going to the two charities.
