A HEALTH action plan is being drawn up to address the needs of minority ethnic communities in Newport.
Work is being led by members of MECHANIC (Minority Ethnic Community Health Association: Initiating Change), and co-ordinated by city health chiefs.
Diabetes, mental health, and vaccinations are among the priority areas.
