SOS TO SAVE SNAKE FAVOURITE: One of our pet projects needs rehauling following the January Gales.

Many readers who visit the Owl Sanctuary will know of the willow snake that slithers its way up the hillside, and is a living sculpture that allows children to enjoy running through its body.

The artwork is also a piece of work that the Green Gym has adopted to try and maintain.

We had done really well this winter, with the help from the Cardiff Green Gym, until the gales last month that gave the structure a real battering making the jaw of the snake totally unrecognisable.

However, the Green Gym has taken on the challenge, and are attempting to replant the structure between now and the end of March . . . so, once more, summer visitors to the Owl Sanctuary will be able to appreciate this living amenity.
