The evening will commence at 7pm. A warm welcome is extended to all and a retiring collection will be taken.

Tea and biscuits will be available after the programme.

COMPUTER SESSIONS: Free eight-week computer taster sessions are to be held at our local library.

No experience is necessary and no exams will be held.

HOSPITAL FETE: This year's Aberbeeg Hospital fete will be held on Saturday, June 16, at 2pm.

Attractions include the excellent children's entertainer Maisy Muddle, bouncy castle, face painting, belly dancing, and African drumming.

There will also be a dog display and refreshments.

SIX BELLS TENANTS and RESIDENTS' ASSOCIATION: The next meeting is being heldon June 4, at Six Bells Working Men's Club, Six Bells. Please come along and support us.

Date for your diary: Six Bells Tenants and Residents'Fete will be held on Saturday, July 7, at Windsor Road Field, Six Bells and will be opened at 12 noon by Blaenau Gwent MP, Dai Davies.

We would like to thank Councillors Jim Watkins and Denzil Hancock for their kind donation of £100 towards the prizes on the day.

Events this year include the Wacky obstacle course for the adults and welly throwing competition bothwith cash prizes of £25, £15 & £10 for both male and female winners.

The children's sports will once again berun by Mr Price, head teacher at Bryngwyn Primary School, and pupils from the school will be on hand throughout the afternoon to entertain us with their singing.

Blaenau Gwent Council's Active Living Team will also be on hand to offer Bleep tests.

There will be two tests - the first at 1pm and the second at 2pm There will be prizes for the top three male and female results.Health checks will also be carried out such as body fat, blood pressure, lung function tests and information will also be available on nutrition and active living.

Circuit training taster sessions will also be held every hour at 1pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm.

So come along and not only enjoy a family day out but get fit and healthy in the process.

The ten-week course "belongs" to each group who run it and includes: Information and advice on healthy, practical cooking sessions, a visit by an environmental health officer to talk on food hygiene issues, a shopping trip to a local supermarket to look at value-for-money products and food labelling and the development and adaptations of recipes to make them healthier.

The courses take place in local community venues that have the required facilities.

They are run by local residents who are trained to become Community Food Workers and offer you a fantastic opportunity to improve the health of you and your family.

The courses are funded by the National Public Health Service for Wales, the Big Lottery Fund and Health Challenge Wales.

GWENT WILDLIFE TRUST: The next Legacy Campaign Event being held by Gwent Wildlife Trust will be Wander For Wildlife and will take place on Thursday, June 8.

A buffet will be served at 12noon in the barn at Pentwyn Farm, Pennalt, near Monmouth, followed by two short walks led by staff members from Dingestow, to enjoy the delights of Pentwyn reserve and New Grove Meadows.

If wet there will be a slide show.

There will be no charge for this event, but please phone the trust office at Dingestow (01600 740358) to book a place so that organisers will know the numbers to cater for.

The Blaenau Gwent Group will once again host the GWT General Knowledge Quiz in Aberbeeg Social Club, at 7pm, on Wednesday, September 20.

A charge of £8 is made to cover a team of four to participate in the quiz and free refreshments afterwards.
