SIX BELLS ART PROJECT: The Art Project has been very successful so far, with at least 10 to 15 people turning up at each workshop, pictured below.

The remaining workshops are taking place on: Tuesday, August 21 at St John's Church, Six Bells, noon-6pm and Wednesday, August 22, at Bethany Baptist Chapel, 10am-4pm, so there's still time to join in the fun!

There will be a grand unveiling of the pictures at the subway when they are completed - more details of shortly.

R.I.S JUNIOR TOUR OF WALES 3 DAY CYCLE RACE: Here is the route of where the race is taking place at each of the five stages.

Saturday, August 25, 10.30am.

Stage 1 - Time Trial. 6 miles. (10km). Start: Blaenavon Road. 300m from roundabout.

Course: Brynmawr-Blaenavon Road-Tumble at 1 minute intervals.

Saturday, August 25, 2.45pm.

Stage 2 - Road Race. 50 miles.

Course: Brynmawr A465 Gilwern, Crickhowell, Talybont, Brecon, Talgarth, Llangorse, Talybont, Llangynidr, Mountain.

Finish 1km after summit at 5.15pm.

Sunday, August 26, 10.30am.

Stage 3 - Circuit Race, Bryn Bach Park 24 miles.

Sunday, August 26, 3.30pm.

Stage 4 - Road Race 45 miles.

Course: Bryn Bach Park, A465 direction of Merthyr A470 direction. Cardiff, Nelson, Fochriw, Merthyr Common A465 Cwm Bargoed (x2 circuits).

Finish at Prince of Wales Inn, Princetown, Tredegar.

Monday, August 27, 10.30am.

Stage 5 Road Race 62 miles (100km). Course: Nantyglo, A465W, Dowlais, Hirwaun, Storey Arms, Brecon A40 Abergavenny, Llanfoist.

Finish: Tumble (Keepers) Mountain, Blaenavonapprox 1.15pm.

Prize Presentation: Monday at Race HQ Nantyglo Leisure Centre, at 2.30pm.

The Welsh team are: Luke Rowe, 17, from Cardiff, Mike Webb, 17, from Cardiff, Gareth James, 17, from Abergavenny and Andrew Williams, 16, from Cwmcarn.

TRIP TO THE PAST: Saxon Court, Brynmawr, is organising a day trip to Llancaiach Fawr Manor, on Monday, September 3.

Step back to the year 1645, where you will be welcomed by Colonel Prichard.

Listen to the gossip of the day, hear about traditional customs and talk about the everyday life of 300 years ago.

The trip starts from Saxon Court at 1pm and the coach leaves Llancaiach Fawr Manor at 4.30pm for the return journey. Tickets cost £2 per person (coach fare and entry fee included).
