NEWPORT sprint star Christian Malcolm will be going to his fourth Olympics after finishing second in the 200m final at the British trials in Birmingham.

Malcolm, who finished fifth in the Olympic 200m finals in 2000 and 2008, already had the qualifying time of 20.55 seconds.

And, as he stormed through the field to finish just behind winner James Ellington, he clinched his place in the Team GB squad.

It is a huge relief for the veteran, who turned 33 earlier this month.

"I'm delighted," he said. "It was a gamble for me to double up and do the 100m and 200m but I find it puts me in good stead for major championships and I made it."

He added: "Fourth Olympics – bring it on!"
