WITH Wales all set to battle it out on the pitch this Saturday in the World Cup semi final, Caerphilly County Borough Council staff are getting behind the boys by wearing red to work this Friday, and will help to raise money for Sport Relief.

With the likes of A-list stars like Snoop Dogg, Katherine Jenkins and David Hasselhoff being spotted in Wales shirts, Caerphilly County Borough Council is getting on board to support Warren Gatland's men this Friday and help show the world that red is this season's most fashionable colour.

Staff will pay £1 to wear red to work, with all donations going to Sport Relief.

Cllr Allan Pritchard, Leader of the Council said, "Rugby fever has well and truly landed, and we at Caerphilly County Borough Council are keen to join in and show our support for the boys by wearing red into work on Friday".

Councillor Pritchard, who himself played first class rugby for many years continued, "The team are playing some fantastic rugby at the moment, and there's a real spirited atmosphere right across Wales. On behalf of all at Caerphilly County Borough Council, we wish the team well on Saturday and we are all very proud of all you have achieved so far. I will most definitely be wearing my red jersey with pride on Friday and of course Saturday".
