HIGH flying Bedwas moved up one place to second after being unlucky to be held by Premiership leaders Llandovery in their own backyard.

The league’s surprise package had chances to win the game in a tense finale at Church Bank before having to settle for two points.

The Drovers drew for the second time in seven days after honours were even the week before away at Aberavon in a 32-32 stalemate.

Bedwas built on their 31-28 Gwent derby victory over Cross Keys with deadly outside half Richard Powell, who scored 26 points at Pandy Park, nailing two penalties against Llandovery.

The hosts also scored two penalties, landed by Powell’s opposite number Rhys Jones.

Wales cap Adam Warren was a menace for the Drovers at centre.
