County appeal for volunteers to clear snow

First published in Sport

NEWPORT County AFC have issued an appeal to fans for help to ensure that tomorrow's match against Barrow can go ahead as planned.

Rodney Parade head of operations Mark Jones has confirmed that the pitch is playable and took to Twitter this lunchtime to call for fans to help in removing the snow from the frost covers starting at 8.30am tomorrow ahead of a 3pm kick-off.

A statement on the club's official website says: "Supporters are asked to turn up at 8.30am with shovels and wheelbarrows."

Love to help but its a long way to push a wheelbarrow from larne in northern I reland but surely they must have them at the ground. its not the first time it has snowed in lovely Newport. Come on County bang in 6 and make big Tim go over the moon.
