LIKE British and Irish Lions fans, Glamorgan are hoping for some Rugby delight this afternoon.

The county will be looking to retain their 100 per cent record in the Friends Life t20 when they travel to Warwickshire.

Glamorgan won by four wickets when the sides met in Cardiff on Wednesday evening to top the Midlands, Wales and West Group.

They were also successful in their opener in Worcester so another precious away win in today’s encounter at Rugby School (2.30pm start) would give their chances of making the knockout stages a real boost.

Coach Matthew Mott admits that his side are confident but denies that their recent success against the Bears gives them an edge.

He said: “The fact that we’ve just played them in a game in Cardiff, it augurs well for another good contest.

“I think both sides could walk away knowing they gave it a really good crack and thankfully we came out on top.

“But it means absolutely nothing for our next game against them.

“Yeah, it’s great to win, but we’ve still got to turn up with the same intensity otherwise they’ll blow us away.”

Glamorgan have named an unchanged 14-man squad for the encounter.

They are waiting for news about the fitness of key all-rounder Jim Allenby, who missed Wednesday’s win through illness.

However, it looks like former England pace bowler Simon Jones will miss the entire t20 campaign with a shoulder injury that Glamorgan say will rule him out for at least four weeks.

Glamorgan: J Allenby, M Wallace (wicket-keeper), C Cooke, M North (captain), M Goodwin, B Wright, S Walters, N McCullum, N James, D Cosker, M Hogan, W Owen, G Wagg, A Jones.
