TOMORROW’S all-ticket clash between Newport County AFC and Bristiol Rovers is heading towards a 6,489 sell-out at Rodney Parade.

A statement posted on the County website last night reads: “The attendance at Rodney Parade for Saturday’s eagerly awaited Skybet League Two local derby with Bristol Rovers will be over 5,000.

“Ticket sales for the game passed that level this afternoon and the game is heading towards a 6,489 capacity sell out.

“Supporters are again reminded that the game is all-ticket and the police have again confirmed that there will strictly be no ticket sales on the day of the game.

“This means that the last chance to buy tickets in person or over the phone will be on Friday from the Rodney Parade ticket office between 9am-5pm. Tickets will be for sale online until midnight on Friday.”

Meanwhile, the club has also announced that the home clash with Exeter City in March 2014 has been moved back by 24 hours.

The club said: “Our home Skybet League Two game with Exeter City scheduled for Saturday 15th March has been moved back 24 hours to Sunday 16th March with a 3pm kick-off to avoid clashing with the Wales v Ireland Six Nations Rugby International.

“We would like to thank Exeter City for their co-operation in moving the fixture which is aimed at maximising the commercial potential of the game for the Club. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to supporters and want to make it clear that this is the last planned fixture change of the season.”
