WALES lock Bradley Davies expects more of the same when Argentina head to Cardiff on Saturday, writes Chris Kirwan.

The Cardiff Blues forward was to the fore in a bruising autumn opener against South Africa at the Millennium Stadium.

Both sides put in some fearsome hits and neither pack wanted to take a backward step.

Davies predicts that Argentina, who were humbled 31-12 by England at Twickenham, will have the same mindset as the Sotuh Africans.

"Saturday is going to be very similar to the Boks, Argentina are a team who are going to challenge us up front, which is going to be good," said Davies, who skippered Wales on their summer tour of Japan.

"We have got to face up to it again up front and build on what we did against South Africa.

"We had a lot of line breaks today, which was pleasing. If we can finish some of them off and get a good start, then I think we can do some damage."

Davies got the nod ahead of Luke Charteris against the Boks and repaid the faith of head coach Warren Gatland with an aggressive display alongside Alun Wyn Jones.

He believes the bruising nature of the game will serve Wales well against the Pumas, Tonga and Australia.

"Going from the RaboDirect Pro12 to the Heineken Cup is a big step, but this is ten times harder again," he said.

"It takes you 20 minutes to get into it because you are not used to it. But we will be better for it.

"We will look at where we went wrong, look at what we did right, then put it to bed and build for Argentina, which again is going to be a massive challenge for us.

On his own display Davies said: "It was nice to be back on the field and I felt I was back to my old self, there is confidence back in my game. It was nice to get my hands on the ball a bit."
