NEWPORT Gwent Dragons are down to the bare bones in the backs for Saturday’s Guinness Pro12 clash with in-form Glasgow at Rodney Parade.
Fly-half Jason Tovey is out for two to three weeks after suffering a calf injury in the 17-15 defeat to the Ospreys last Friday and has been joined on the sidelines by teenage centres Jack Dixon (wrist) and Tyler Morgan (knee).
A late call will be made on full-back and captain Lee Byrne after he suffered a shoulder injury against his former region.
Experienced centre Ashley Smith makes a welcome return from a foot injury but has not played since March and has only just returned to full training while 17-year-old Barney Nightingale is included in the squad.
Wales Under-20s fly-half Angus O’Brien is likely to make his first regional start after impressing as Tovey’s replacement against the Ospreys.
