SOUTH Africa ace Bryan Habana has vowed that Springboks won't repeat the mistakes that saw them downed in Cardiff when they lock horns with Wales on Saturday.

Warren Gatland's men enjoyed a 12-6 victory when the sides met at the Millennium Stadium last autumn, only their second ever win against the Boks.

Toulon speedster Habana missed that game as it was outside the World Rugby Test window but says South Africa have learnt a harsh lesson.

"We have to look at what went wrong in that game and what Wales did well that we weren't able to handle," he said.

"There were quite a few guys who were not involved in the game with the match being outside the international window and we had quite a few injuries with Jean de Villiers going off.

"But when we look back at that game I'm sure there is a lot we can learn.

"Wales have been a tough opponent and we were also eight minutes from losing the second Test at Nelspruit in 2014," he continued.

"They are a team we fully respect and know they are going to give everything against us. If we don't pitch up with the full intensity on the day we know we are going to come second.

"We have much respect for what they have achieved with all the injuries. The manner in which they have come through the World Cup is fantastic."

Habana is tied with Jonah Lomu on 15 World Cup tries but breaking the record isn't on his radar this weekend.

He said: " Personal achievements are always great but all that matters to me is the team winning and moving forward in the competition."

"He (Jonah) really changed the game and his contribution will never be beaten in my opinion.

"I have massive respect for him as a player and as a person; it only took him two tournaments to get to that record so he deserves a lot of credit and is a real legend of the game."
