STRIKER Tyler Blackwood – the man credited with the only winning goal of the season for Newport County AFC – is set to return to Queens Park Rangers.
Blackwood, whose header was deflected in on his debut in a 1-0 win at Carlisle United, has barely featured since John Sheridan replaced Terry Butcher as manager.
And Sheridan said: “I’ve spoken to Les Ferdinand at QPR regarding Tyler. Obviously he’s not getting a lot of football.
“He came in under the previous manager and he’s a young kid and he’s not figuring too much.
“He’s in a hotel and on his own a lot and I’ve spoken to Tyler about the situation, and Les Ferdinand, and we’ll make a decision.
“But it does look like Tyler will be going back to QPR.
“I’m not one to bring lots of loan players in. Usually when you bring a loan player in they’re going to be playing and you don’t want too many hanging about – I think it’s unfair to do that.”
He added: “I’d like to keep Janoi [Donacien]. He’s with us until the Bristol Rovers game and I’ll be having a chat with him.”
