FORMER Newport County winger and Wales international Keith Pring has died at the age of 74.
Born in Newport in 1943, Mr Pring began his career as an apprentice with County and made his debut in 1961.
He made more than 60 Football League appearances for his hometown club, scoring three goals before joining Rotherham United in October 1964 for a fee of £10,000.
Mr Pring was capped by Wales three times during his time with the Millers, playing against Denmark, Chile and Northern Ireland between 1965 and 1967.
He later moved on to Notts County and Southport, where his playing career was ended by a broken leg.
After hanging up his boots, Mr Pring had spells in coaching with Southport and Wigan Athletic before becoming a brewery representative in the North West.
In his earlier life he had represented Cardiff Boys at rugby and also played baseball for St. Michael's in Newport.
He died this week after a long illness at his home in Southport.
