With the remaining two Tom Perkins Cup matches taking priority, the league programme was slightly shortened last week.

In the cup matches the all-First Division clash saw league leaders Neuadd Wen host promotion challengers Brynmawr Town for the second consecutive week and following their league win again the hosts disposed of Brynmawr by a 9-3 margin.

The other match was far closer with Premier League leaders Tredegar Athletic travelling to Reserve Division leaders Excelsior A.

After a thrilling match Tredegar came away 5-3 victors after extra time.

The completed semi-final draw now sees RTB Ebbw Vale play Tredegar at Beaufort Welfare and Neuadd Wen play Garnlydan at Duffryn Park, Blaina. Both matches will be played on Tuesday, April 13, at 6pm.

The Presidents Cup will be played on Tuesday, April 20, and the matches are Rhymney A v Trinant Athletic at Duffryn Park and Fleur De Lys v Garnlydan at Cwm Welfare. Both matches kick-off at 6pm.

In the Premier Division, Rhymney A reclaimed top spot with a 7-1 away victory at Nantyglo and Garnlydan moved back to third position with a fine 3-1 away win at Pantside, coming back from one goal down at half time.

Cwm FC hosted Tredegar Arms and were worthy 5-2 victors and in the other match Castle Inn and Rassau Rangers shared six goals in a 3-3 draw.

The only match played in the First Division saw Pontllanfraith travel the short distance to Coed Duon and return with a 4-2 victory.

In the Reserve Division Pentwynmawr failed to take full advantage of the league leaders’ cup commitments when they were held to a goalless draw at Cefn Fforest.

Trinant Athletic continued their recent improved form with a convincing 6-1 away win at RTB Ebbw Vale.

Bluebirds beat Abercarn 4-0, Rhymney B beat Excelsior B 5-1 and Excelsior C defeated Crusaders B 4-0.
