A SECOND-HALF comeback from Cross Keys wasn't enough against a strong Cardiff side at Pandy Park this afternoon.
The Blue and Blacks led 18-6 at half-time thanks to tries from Matthew John and Rhys Shellard.
Three penalties by Gareth David and a try by wing Nathan Trowbridge inched Keys in front only for Gareth Davies to kick a winner for Cardiff.
Newport made it two wins from two with a 30-14 away success at Carmarthen Quins.
Pontypool were denied at the death by Aberavon with the Wizards sneaking it 31-26 thanks to a late score.
