NEWPORT will need to cure their travel sickness if they are to salvage anything from their disastrous Premiership campaign.

The Black and Ambers – who have lost their last eight games – head to Cardiff Arms Park on Bank Holiday Monday looking to break their 2010-11 away duck.

All three of their victories this season have come at Rodney Parade, though they have also been beaten six times on their own patch.

Six of their remaining ten league fixtures are away from home, so finding the formula for winning on the road is vital if they are to climb away from the bottom of the league.

And the only way that the Black and Ambers are going to achieve that is through good honest toil according to forwards coach Dai Gray.

“The season just hasn’t taken off and we have probably been our own worst enemy with silly errors and missed tackles,” he said.

“But there is no point in feeling sorry for ourselves and we have to dust ourselves down and keep working hard, that’s the only way we are going to get out of this slump.

“We have to stick together and keep each other going because I am certain that when we get that win the confidence will come flooding back.

“In fairness Cardiff have had a pretty indifferent season themselves and we will be looking to kick-start our season with a win.”

The Blue and Blacks sit in ninth place and have won just two of their last nine games.
