WEALDSTONE v COUNTY. Today KO 3pm.

JUSTIN Edinburgh has warned his players that complacency could shatter their Wembley dream.

The Exiles can lose the second leg of their FA Trophy semi-final today against Ryman Premier outfit Wealdstone and still progress after a 3-1 win in the first leg.

However, five-time Wembley veteran Edinburgh is adamant no one should be underestimating the size of the task ahead and is tipping the Stones to make it a very uncomfortable afternoon for his charges.

“In some fans’ eyes we are there (at Wembley) and that isn’t how we are looking at it, that would only be stoking the fire for Wealdstone,” he said.

“I’ve used the word attitude a lot in this cup run because we’ve had a lot of games similar to this and if our attitude is as it should be we have more than a chance of getting the result we want.

“There will be a terrific atmosphere but certainly I expect my players to cope just fine with the occasion, we should embrace it and use it to lift us up. We all know the prize at the end of this game and it’s in our own hands.”

Edinburgh isn’t thinking about playing for a draw though, despite County’s two-goal advantage.

“They (Wealdstone) think they are the story, but we want to spoil their fairytale and it’s up to us, if we play at our best we will be absolutely fine,” he said. “We’ve got to go and be positive, if we try and have a mindset of defending and playing for a 0-0 and it doesn’t work and we try and change it and are chasing the game we will probably lose.

“But in my opinion we play better away from home than we do at home, our performances on the road have been good, we’ve had some very good displays away.

“We have to go and set-up looking to win the game and thinking it is 0-0, we should be trying to win the leg, not just the tie.”

Wealdstone will have a much-changed line-up with several players returning from suspension, but Edinburgh is unconcerned and relishing the occasion.

“They will have a few new faces, a change of personnel with a few suspensions coming back and they’ll look at that as a positive, but we’ve got to be on our game and that’s all I want my boys worrying about,” he said.
