BEDWAS have signed a core of seasoned campaigners to help with the development of a host of Newport Gwent Dragons academy prospects.

The Dragons have assigned full-back Hallam Amos and centre Jack Dixon, who made their full regional debuts last season, to Bridge Field.

They will be joined at Bedwas by academy wing Lewis Hudd, fly-half Ethan Davies, prop Dan Goode, lock Derryn Jones, hooker Elliott Dee and back row James Benjamin.

That youth is mixed with Premiership experience with nine new signings so far confirmed, eight of which plied their trade in the top flight last term.

Back row forward James Thomas and wing Ryan Owen arrive from Gwent rivals Pontypool, lock Kyle Maiden is heading east from Bridgend while five players have signed from Cardiff, props Kristian Gay and Dan Preece, lock Chris Bundy, scrum-half Tom Rowlands and centre Matthew John. Gavin Close has also been snapped up after impressing with Division Two East’s Rhydyfelin. The former Pontypridd wing scored 23 tries in 20 games last season.
