Concessions for season ticket holders

NEWPORT County have made a number of concessions to fans unhappy at a rise in season ticket prices following the move to Rodney Parade.

The Argus reported recently that season tickets to watch County at their new home were to rise between 15 and 18 per cent for the 2012/13 campaign.

And at a fans’ meeting at Rodney Parade new general manager Steve Dance confirmed that an adult season ticket in the Bisley Stand seating area will cost £340 and the price to stand in the Hazell Terrace and North Terrace will be £300.

But, having listened to complaints from supporters, the Exiles have come up with a number of added benefits to sweeten the deal for those wishing to purchase season tickets.

Under-16s tickets will cost £95 in the Bisley Stand and £60 in the terraces and under-12s will get in for £75 and £45 respectively. Entry is free for under-6s.

There are also discounts for those with two or three children in the family and a three-month payment plan has been introduced.

In addition, season ticket holders will get a 10 per cent discount in the club shop, vouchers for free food and drink and a programme, as well as free entry to a Dragons fixture and free entry for a friend to a Conference match.

Those buying before July 9 will receive free entry to the pre-season friendly against League Two Bristol Rovers on Tuesday, July 24.

That is currently the only home friendly for the Exiles prior to the Blue Square Bet Premier kick-off on August 11 but more warm-up matches at Rodney Parade are expected to be announced in the near future.

Justin Edinburgh’s side will be on the road for the majority of July, starting at Undy Athletic on July 6 before moving on to Moreton Rangers on July 13, Evesham United on July 14, Carmarthen Town on July 21, Chippenham Town on July 31 and Weston-super-Mare on August 3.

Entry for home friendlies will cost £12 for adults.
