NEWPORT’S Liz Johnson tonight took bronze in the SB6 100m breaststroke.
Johnson, who won gold in Beijing four years ago, set a new Paralympic record of 1:41.09 in qualifying for tonight’s final. She then saw GB team-mate Charlotte Henshaw go under it in the second heat with a time of 1:39.64.
In the final 14-year-old Ukrainian Viktoriia Savtsova claimed the record herself with a time of 1:39.19, Henshaw (1:39.16) taking the silver.
