ASHLEY Williams will replace Aaron Ramsey as Wales captain as manager Chris Coleman attempts to put his own stamp on the national team.
The Wales boss, whose side lose to 2-0 at home to Belgium and were hammered 6-1 in Serbia last month, named his squad for the games against Scotland and Croatia this morning.
Coleman informed Ramsey of his decision at the Arsenal training ground yesterday.
He said: "Aaron was a little bit relieved because I think he's felt the pressure. Ashley will be my captain going forward."
Craig Bellamy is missing from the squad, as are goalkeepers Wayne Hennessey and Boaz Myhill but Joe Ledley returns after injury to face the Scots in Cardiff a week today and travel to Croatia four days later.
Wales squad: Brown, Price, Fon Williams, Blake, Davies, Gunter, Lynch, Matthews, Ricketts, Williams, Allen, Edwards, King, Ledley, Ramsey, Vaughan, Bale, Church, Morison, Robson-Kanu, Vokes.
