A BUILDER who travelled nearly 16,000 miles solo across the world in a pick-up truck raised £2,000 for Acorns Children’s Hospice.
Ed Walker, aged 37, from Pershore, personally funded the adventure to Australia’s Ayers Rock so that every penny went to charity.
Mr Walker is back in the UK after travelling nearly 16,000 miles, mainly off-road, across Europe and Russia to reach Australia.
His pick-up truck recently returned to the UK after being transported back separately.
Mr Walker said: “I have quite an attachment to my truck and especially now as I have a lot of memories.
“There were times when I would break down on the side of the road and people would appear and offer to help me. The kindness of strangers and the great cause I was fund-raising for motivated me to push on.”
