Lincoln 2 County 4
5:02pm Saturday 12th January 2013 in Newport County
By Michael Pearlman
NEWPORT County produced a masterclass in clinical finishing in the first half to comfortably triumph over David Holdsworth's side.
The Exiles stormed into a three goal lead with a trio of superb finishes, Aaron O'Connor (twice) and debutant Robbie Willmott seemingly settling the clash.
However, on the stroke of half time Lincoln hit back to seemingly give themselves a chance, only for Christian Jolley to spring the offisde trap and square to give Willmott his second.
Chris Bush hit a consolation for the hosts with 12 minutes remaining, but Newport deservedly held firm.

Banging in goals just for fun
The defence still sounds iffy
But lets not be sniffy
The lad's did what had to be done.
Great result.Feeling rough today but that's really cheered me up !!

cracking result and other games going in our favour.
my only fear is that goal difference may come into play at the end of the season, and the way county are giving away silly goals after dominating a first half is worrying to me and alot of other county faithfuls
the two at lincoln today being a prime example, and i cannot remember the last time county kept a clean sheet.
for the cherry on the cake to be achieved i feel county do need to tighten up at the back or all the good work of scoring goals will be wasted.
CONGRATS to justin for spotting rees willmott as a talent. again showing his shrewdness and knowledge.
and i bet he has some cards up his sleeve to strengthen the defence ?????????
as michael aspel once said justin "give us a clue", we are almost there to having a championship winning side
WATCH OUT BARROW , JOLLEY'S GOING TO GET YA!

I would ask for a bit of caution over the Lincoln result. They have around half a dozen players out with injury and suspension so anything other than a win there would have been a bad result. We have a terrible run-in with lots of away games, several of them tough ones. So we still need a bit of strengthening to win automatic promotion.

So ---we are in a good position in the table but need a big strong player at the back and a keeper .
Oh how we miss Gary Warren ----check on his performances in the Scottish Premier ---not missed one game and amazing performances .
I know we cannot look back but lets look forward and make sure come APRIL we have many more clean sheets. This league is wide open and could come down to goal difference.

Well according to the website the latest news is that we have signed Jolley. so thats good news just in time for the Barrow game. It's nice to keep up with the news is'nt it ?
Tim Thraves commentary said that the Lincoln video would be available later on Saturday. So am looking forward to seeing it a week next Thursday! Come on guys the supporters who can't make the away games deserve better than this. It is also a good shop window for the next game.
Thanks Argus for being on the ball.
Up the County!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
