CARETAKER manager Jimmy Dack praised his team’s spirit and work ethic after Newport County AFC earned a big three points at Wycombe Wanderers.
Two goals from Yan Klukowski either side of Fred Onyedinma’s equaliser for the hosts sealed the Exiles’ first victory since Justin Edinburgh’s departure.
“I’m absolutely delighted,” said Dack. “We’ve had a tough week but the boys dug in and they got their rewards today.
“The players have been fantastic all season and I can’t fault them.
“They’re an honest bunch of lads and it’s a pleasure to work with them.
“They had a little dip for whatever reason but we’ve bounced back stronger.
“We did it at the start of the season when we lost our first four games before we got going and you’re starting to see it again now.”

The win ended a run of four defeats and a draw for Dack’s men who remain in sixth in League Two.
“We’re unbeaten in two now and we’re just going to continue the work that Justin Edinburgh did at this football club,” he added.
“He did a fantastic job when he was here but it’s the players on the pitch who matter.
“We’ve all worked hard to get into this position and we’d be fools to let it go.
“We’ve got to stay in the pack because we’re coming into March now and we’re sixth in the league.
“That isn’t by luck, it’s by hard work and the results will come.
“I’m starting to enjoy the job now. It was a bit of a whirlwind start but the players make the job very easy.”
Great win today against a good side! Boys were unreal. Loving playing football on a Saturday again there's nothing better ⚽️❤️
