All Black Hore gets five-week ban

ALL Blacks hooker Andrew Hore has been handed a five-week ban after striking Wales second row Bradley Davies in an off the ball incident during Saturday’s match in Cardiff.

He will now miss the All Blacks’ final autumn Test against England on Saturday.

The ban could have been eight weeks but was reduced because of his “acceptance of guilt, genuine remorse, exemplary disciplinary record and his conduct during the hearing”.

This is absolutely shocking 5 week ban for knocking someone out in an International Rugby Match ... great deterrent IRB this should be a minimum of 8 week International match ban!!

Especially when they are out of season and will not make a bit of difference at all! (Oh he misses the English game)

What an example to set the youngsters!!

This means a one match ban and four pre-season friendly games back in New Zealand. What a joke the rugby hierarchy are becoming. Meaningless punishment for a VERY cowardly attack which has effectively ended up with a two or three match 'ban' for the injured player. Rugby is now a professional sport so why not fine him say ten thousand pounds as well as a ban for a season for a blatant and criminal act of assault on another unsuspecting person. Sam Warburton had a more serious punishment for the tip tackle in the World Cup and a red card, this guy has got away with murder in comparison because he had sheepish eyes and was Oh so sorry before the disiplinary panel (and I use disiplinary in the knowledge that its all about at least we did something but OK it don't matter anyway brigade). Make the whole thing a Joke.

Oh and is it just a coincidence that the ban expired on Feb 5th exactly 1 week before the Super 16's season kick off ... I think NOT!

Of course its a pure coincidence they didn't even think about how it fitted into any sort of rugby timetable, such evil thought never entered anyone head for one minute. Does it coincide with the start of the season next year, oops so it does, but there you go its far enough away to go unnoticed anyway so why worry, makes it all a joke. Hope the next Welsh player who transgresses is dealt with just as kindly that's all I can say, a joke for an act of thuggery.

This is a disappointing outcome however im baffled to why people havent moved on from Sam's card in the World Cup??

If you want to go on about the Past, Welsh Players & Welsh Rugby Team has got away with alot too, just remember that

I have to be careful how i word my comments now as i dont want to start the wolf off crying again.

The AB s (and all SH sides) have always been dealt with lightly for such similar acts. it fits with their WIN at ALL COSTS attitude and upbringing. Remember The infamous Spear tackle on BOD, no-one got even cited or any ban at all. Umanga's comment was "well we are not playing tiddly-winks"..and don't even go down the gamesmanship route (Andy Haden recently admitted the team had talked about doing the "fall down dead act" within kicking range if it was needed.
There are too many of these to recant here, suffice to say its unacceptable behavior in all NH sports, but less so in SH.
These clowns started the whole "crooked feed is OK to get on with the game" thing which has reduced hooker to merely centre forwards and NO-ONE hooks anymore. I could go on but I may get accused of a bias!
Anyway he should have had a set number of games ban, say 10, and maybe an international appearance ban of several games as well for such an early and cowardly hit.

The tragedy is these guys are so good they don't need to do it...Oh and it would have looked really sad when Wales lost to 14 rather than 15 even without Dan Carter......??#!
