Wasps finish 2011 season fifth

NEWPORT Mike Manning Audio Wasps' finished the 2011 British Premier League season in fifth place as a result of Workington Comets' 60-35 home win over Plymouth Devils on Monday night.
The Wasps, BPL Knockout Cup winners, had climbed into fourth position on Saturday night with a 51-42 victory over Edinburgh Monarchs.
Meanwhile Danish star Charlie Gjedde has won the club's Wasps rider-of-the-year accolade while skipper Leigh Lanham picked up the team man-of-the-year award.
Aussie ace Todd Kurtz was the recipient of the Newport Hornets' rider-of-the-year trophy.
