Morgan first met Georgina Symonds after using an escort service.

NOVEMBER 2013:

Morgan gave Miss Symonds a Range Rover worth £12,000.

NOVEMBER 2013-JANUARY 2015:

During Miss Symonds and Morgan’s relationship, Morgan loses two stones in weight and gets his teeth capped.

JANUARY 2015:

Morgan starts paying Miss Symonds £7,000 per month for her only to see him and a small number of other clients.

MARCH 2015:

Morgan reveals he has been in a relationship with Miss Symonds to his wife Helen, and moves out of the family home.

AUGUST 2015-NOVEMBER 2015:

Morgan lets Miss Symonds live rent-free in Pencoed Castle Bungalow, in Llanmartin, Newport.

NOVEMBER 2015:

Georgina’s ex-partner commits suicide.

NOVEMBER 2015-JANUARY 12, 2016:

A listening device is planted by Morgan in the bungalow Miss Symonds is living in. He is said to have listened in to calls from November 9, 2015 up until he day he killed her, January 12, 2016.

JANUARY 10, 2016:

Data later retrieved by police indicated Morgan had been listening in to a phone conversation between Miss Symonds and a friend, Thomas Ballinger, that evening.

JANUARY 11, 2016:

Morgan is said to have created a list on his phone at 3.20am the following morning, which listed the following items the prosecution said proved he planned the killing: "String, 02 (the phone shop, where he bought a SIM card as part of a plan to cover his tracks after the killing), poly (black polythene sheeting), glove, snip (scissors), handle, tape, Special K, starter, rag, adapter.

JANUARY 12, 2016:

Morgan travels to Pencoed Bungalow to see Miss Symonds. He strangles her with baling twine as they sit on the sofa and then drives to Beech Hill Farm in Usk, Gwent, where his wife and two daughters lived, and hid Miss Symond’s body in an outbuilding around noon.

Miss Symonds is reported missing to police early that evening, after failing to collect her five-year-old daughter from school that afternoon.

JANUARY 13, 2016:

Morgan confesses to two police officers at 4.45am, telling them: "I strangled her this morning. I love her so much."

Officers discover Miss Symonds' body at 6am and a post-mortem examination finds she died from strangulation.

JANUARY 18, 2016:

At 2.40pm, Morgan appears via video link in Cardiff Crown Court charged with the murder of Georgina Symonds. He only appears to confirm his name and a plea is not entered.

NOVEMBER 28 2016:

The trial of Peter Morgan begins at Newport Crown Court.

DECEMBER 21 2016:

Peter Morgan found guilty of the murder of Georgina Symonds.
