I WAS very saddened to see work has started to erect the statue of the Risca Cuckoo in Pontymister. I find it quite puzzling how Caerphilly councillors can stand around the cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday, but then, on the other hand, show total disrespect to the men that worked and lost their lives in Pontymister steelworks. Just one word comes to mind - hypocrites!
