Rugby defines our Welshness

WHAT does it mean to be Welsh?

It’s when 1/30th of our kind are drawn to our capital when the English have to be repelled. It’s when most of the rest of us are transfixed by a box in our houses and when the roads are empty of traffic. When we forget our tribal differences and join together as a nation. We have just witnessed the best ever performance of a Welsh team and now it’s time to aspire to another level and beat the Southern Hemisphere sides, which we would have done on Saturday. Rugby is one of the main events which inexorably defines us as a nation. It’s great to be British as it was during the Olympics, but it will never replace our desire to be Welsh.
