A YANK once said to me in a bar in South America: “All them Big Balloons Britain had during the war, was that to keep our country afloat?”. I shudder to think what he would say about the wind farms marching across our green and pleasant land.


A barrage across the estuary could cause problems so why not put a test platform that did not obstruct shipping in the channel with a wind turbine on top and a paddle below to catch the tide. If the wind don’t blow the tide will flow. If it don’t work what have we lost?
