IT WAS an honour and a privilege to meet Mrs Mary Jane Russell this week (Monday, August 5) and wish her the greatest and happiest of birthday wishes.
I’d just like to thank all the staff at the Bedwellty Nursing Home in Tredegar for the invitation as we all enjoyed helping Mrs Russell celebrate her 103rd birthday.
It is quite a milestone and an amazing achievement, and I, along with my wife, the lady mayoress, Councillor Ann Lewis, were delighted to be able to attend. We’d like to formally offer our best wishes, not just from ourselves, but also on behalf of Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council and also from the people of the borough. Happy birthday, Mrs Mary Jane Russell!
