Stop litter louts

WHY IS it that Torfaen and Newport appear to have so many litter louts?

Both councils should be doing more to tackle this problem as it is such a blight on both areas.

We seem to have a large minority of morons out there who bizarrely think it is someone else’s responsibility to pick up their litter be it thrown out of a vehicle window or casually dropped in the street.

It's the British way and always will be.
I think it's to do with being taxed to death all the time and seeing nothing spent on oneself.
Thus- drop gash and somebody has to pick it up- maybe if the council can be arsed to utilise your mandatory taxation on the people who actually pay it?

Part of the problem is fast food. We regularly go on litter picking ventures and 90% of what we collect comes from McD or KFC. Bins are not the whole answer since any car park at a fast food outlet is festooned with them yet the litter is alongside the car park spaces or thrown out at the exit road as near McDs near the Coldra. Perhaps WAG should stick a hefty tax on these companies and spend it on litter wardens.

WAG won't penalise the multi-nationals as the multi-nationals run the WAG.
Talk about the tail "wag"ging the dog!

It is far too difficult for the management within Torfaen and Newport Boroughs to deal with - they cannot spend most of the working day playing computer games in the office and organise street cleansing at the same time..
