Bin daft idea

First published in Letters

I REFER to monthly rubbish collections. I cannot believe Torfaen are even considering this. The council cannot keep the area tidy with the current fortnightly collections, so how are they going to cope with all the extra rubbish being generated and even fly tipped if this idea goes ahead?

I fully understand the need to reduce costs and even landfill, but this is one idea that definitely needs to be binned and not recycled.

Not the brightest bunch running this fiasco.
They should now be labelled as a'rogue trader' like any other cowboy firm that takes your cash and fail to provide a service.

As I gather Newport residents are deciding to burn rubbish in the back garden, or dump it. If my bin is half the size, does this mean I pay half the cost ?

If the refuse is going to be once a fortnight does that mean the refuse collectors will have more time to put the bins back to where they collected them from, a week doesn't go by where I am retrieving my bin from two doors up from my house.
