I WAS so sorry to read today of the passing of Nasim Babur, Chairman of Newport Pakistani Association. Over many decades he did a tremendous amount of work to cement community relations in Newport and was highly thought of.
I was in regular contact with Nasim in the 80s when the council set-up a community relations committee. He made many useful contributions and suggestions which were readily taken on-board.
He will be missed and a sad loss for the city and the Pakistani community.
