Back to basics

First published in Letters

I FULLY agree with recent writer Mr Nicolaas about the Labour Party forgetting its principles, ideas and socialist policies.

The party needs to get back to being the workers’ party and stop trying to be popular to big business and bankers.

RIP Nye Bevan, and the great Tony Benn.

Why should they go back to basics? They've shown nothing but contempt for the rank and file voters since Blair came to power and people still vote for them. When was the last time Labour did anything profound for the workers of this country? They won't even consider buying back the Royal Mail which they allegedly opposed being sold.

What I found to be a bloody miracle was the massive fleet of NEW vehicles the RM suddenly obtained, within days of being sold off.

No one can convince me that the State,( i.e. US the taxpayers} did not finance this fleet. There is no way on Earth such a massive fleet could be obtained with full RM livery in so few days it took to transfer ownership from the taxpayer to the City.
So, we not only got to see OUR property sold off for a billion or more less than it's estimated value, but we gifted a brand new fleet of vehicles to boot, no doubt as a sweetener to Camorons mates who apparently got first pick of then shares as well.

In the USA such jigery pokery is called Graft, and we should expect the next Labour government to take criminal proceedings again the present government, for far too long corruption on this vast scale has been brushed to one side, with a casual sort of off hand comment that when in government ministers and their party , no longer in power have been punished by the electorate by being voted out.

Not good enough. They have been getting away with it since Thatcher stole our major facilities and a swathe of our industrial and manufacturing base.

Time Parliament took decisive action to ensure they know only too well, once in, anything they do that smacks of corruption, collusion or underhand business, they will pay through the highest courts in the land when ejected by the voters. That is what these courts are for, not to concentrate on a few rioters or fraudsters.

Yet the got voted in again at Blackwood. There is no point attacking labour/tory or the other group whose name I have forgotten thankfully, get out and vote for what YOU want, simple. If its minority view then the majority needs to do something about it, I'm betting they won't do a thing. Maybe the UKIP will walk into the European parliament and chaos sheer chaos ? (We can but hope).
