I WOULD like to thank the members of the public who have been in touch to praise the wild flower planting in Torfaen. This was a new initiative for us and I think that most people will agree the result is a beautiful corridor of colour through the county.
Of course The real drive behind this project was to increase the habitat for pollinators and anyone who has been up close to one of the wildflower beds will have seen bees, butterflies and a host of other pollinating insects flourishing.
Some areas have not grown as well as we would have liked, whether this is down to the severe weather we experienced earlier in the year we are not sure, but this has been a learning curve for us and we are already planning bigger and better displays for next year.
Councillor Bob Wellington Leader of Torfaen County Borough Council
