I SEE Nato chief Anders Fogh Rasmussen is lecturing the Russians not to interfere in Ukraine. Well there could hardly be anyone better qualified to talk about illegally invading other countries, when for years he presided over Nato’s illegal invasion of Afghanistan obediently flying on the coat tails of his American overlords. Nato’s occupation under Anders was spectacularly unsuccessful but was marked by a number of needless massacres, particularly at Kunduz where some 150 people were incinerated by an airstrike.

When Anders’ promised “investigation” into this atrocity failed to materialise, I posted details on his Facebook page (the Nato commander on the ground falsely claimed to be engaging the ‘enemy’ which was the trump card to call in an airstrike but even the pilots repeatedly questioned the claim before dropping their bombs). This resulted in my post being retrospectively removed and my being blocked from Anders Facebook. So much for Anders’ belief in freedom of information.

So at the Wales conference (as he calls it) let’s give Anders the respect he deserves as the man who, in the face of the evidence of 2,000 years of history, had the hubris to believe he could pacify Afghanistan. Thanks to Anders’ Afghanistan adventure a whole nation has been antagonised, Nato has been humiliated and rendered utterly irrelevant and thousands of innocent Afghans now rest in peace.
