TOM McCarthy praises the editor for allowing freedom of comment within the Letters page. The sad reality is that he does not. I have replied several times to letters from Tom McCarthy and for some unknown reason (they are polite and accurately researched) they are censored.
This is somewhat ironic considering the subject that started the debate was freedom of expression and the Charlie Hebdo killings.
Readers should be aware the editor does not do rights to reply (especially if one is answering unjust criticisms from Tom McCarthy) It seems we certainly do not have freedom of expression in the South Wales Argus.
