MARIA WILLIAMS, in the Newsdesk (Argus, 9th March), writes that the recommended pay rise for AMs is an insult to the electorate. Most people, including myself, would probably agree.
Unfortunately, once the gravy train has been set in motion, it’s very difficult to stop it and, in any case, most of us have felt insulted financially since day one of the Welsh Assembly’s inception, so no change there.
The lists of its money-squandering extravagances could fill a skip, but unless future voting patterns change and some new faces appear in the Senedd, I fear everything will carry on as before.
