NOW that the General Election campaign of 2015 is well under way, the one thing that political experts and pundits generally agree on is that it will be one of the most unpredictable, interesting, and crucial campaigns in generations.

Whoever forms the next government after May 7; their policies will have huge ramifications for the country, the people of Britain and Wales, and British politics itself.

This General Election will be interesting for the possible following factors: it could see the emergence of more minority political parties coming to the fore at Westminster, and these parties having some influence on policy, and how the 2015-2020 Parliament runs its day-to-day business.

The emergence of this factor could see the start of the end of the Conservative and Labour Party’s monopoly of forming governments.

In Wales, and this may turn out to be truly fascinating; perhaps some safe South Wales Labour Party Valley seats could see their majorities greatly reduced.

Lastly, if as expected another coalition government is formed after May 7, 2015, this could set the trend for future general elections and coalition governments will become the norm.

Whatever happens on May 7 and after, history will judge it to be the most interesting, crucial and important General Election of this century so far.
