WE ARE now at the beginning of the show season and preparation for all our local shows is well under way. As a county, Monmouthshire should be proud that it retains so many of its local shows and agricultural events. The success of these is down to the voluntary help of many enthusiastic people. both in the planning and in the running on the day. We at Usk Show have a large horse section running showing, jumping and dressage classes. In order for these classes to offer competitors what they want, the horse committee meets 3 or 4 times a year to plan and prepare for the event in September. We would welcome new committee members and anyone interested in offering advice and support. for this section of the show. Full contact details can be found on our website: www.uskshow.co.uk. The success of any of our local events is rooted in the volunteers. who are prepared to help with planning or on the day. I’m sure all local events would welcome new volunteers, young or old, male or female – with fresh ideas and a willingness to get involved. Why not find out more?
