I HAVE recently retired / resigned as Caerphilly County Borough Councillor for Crosskeys Ward. It has not been an easy decision for me to make, but a period of ill health has been the reason for my resignation.
I have served the residents of Crosskeys and Pontywaun as Labour councillor for 30 years unbroken service, and was the last Mayor of the former Islwyn Borough Council, and also a former Mayor of Caerphilly County Borough Council.
It has been an honour and a privilege, and I want to express my sincere thanks to the residents of Crosskeys and Pontywaun for their support and encouragement for the last 30 years as their local government representative on Caerphilly County Borough Council.
D Michael Gray,
Fields Park Terrace,
Crosskeys
