ON NOVEMBER 2, 2013, Carwyn Jones said no income tax vote before funding reform.
A referendum on devolving income tax must not happen until the Treasury changes the way it funds the UK’s nations and regions, First Minister Carwyn Jones has said.
He said the Barnett Formula, which determines how much the Welsh government gets from the Treasury, should be reformed first.
When Scotland and Northern Island are set to get more powers without a referendum, Plaid Cymru said Wales don’t need a referendum for the country to get more powers.
Then Mr Jones poured scorn on it, but now he has made a U-turn and joined Plaid Cymru.
I can’t see him changing the minds of senior Welsh Labour MPs.
Even though Carwyn Jones is the most senior Labour politician across the UK, it’s a pity the Labour don’t recognise his stature.
