I WOULD personally like to thank everyone who came along to support the Cwmbran Big Event last Saturday and helped to make it such a success despite the dreadful weather forecast.
The rain held off and the Big Event was once again a wonderful celebration of music, dance and sport in the borough, showcasing a host of local clubs and fantastic talent. We had a bumper programme on stage with a broad range of music and dance acts to suit all tastes and entertain the whole family.
There was also plenty of fun and games around the site, a wide choice of quality food outlets and a huge variety of exhibitors providing helpful advice and selling some wonderful products.
A big thank-you to all the musicians, dancers, sports clubs, community groups and exhibitors who took part this year and continue to make the Big Event a successful community event. Finally, thanks to the organisations who helped the council fund the event – Croesyceiliog and Llanyravon Community Council,  Henllys Community Council, Ponthir Community Council, Cwmbran Community Council, Torfaen Leisure Trust and event sponsors, Rubin, Lewis, O’Brien, Owen’s Catering and Sidolis.
